  • BIOGRAPHY
  • Xiaoyong CHEN (b. 1955 Beijing, China) studied composition with Xia SU at the Central Conservatory of Music Beijing and with György Ligeti at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg.
  • After the studies freelance composer, guest lectures at various music colleges, universities and master classes, invited to international composers conferences world wide.
  • 2005 elected member of the Freie Akademie der Künste Hamburg. Since 2006 professor at the Shanghai Conservatory, visiting professor at the Xi'an Conservatory, the Central Conservatory Beijing, the Capital Normal University Beijing. Since 2010 visiting professor, since Oct. 2013 Professor of composition at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg.
