Lebenslauf

  • Born in Oldenburg (Germany) in 1987, Daniel Johannes Hansen began studying classical percussion at the HfMT Hamburg in 2008. He studied with Prof. Cornelia Monske, Massimo Drechsler (Hamburger Philharmoniker) and Stephan Cürlis (NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester), among others.
  • While studying, Daniel was a member of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and an intern at the Bochumer Symphoniker. The concerts at Berliner Philharmonie, Kölner Philharmonie, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Alte Oper Frankfurt and Essener Philharmonie during this time were formative experiences for him, just like shows with singer "Sting" at "Moon and Stars" Festival Locarno , the "Montreux Jazz Festival" and other festivals.
  • Daniel finished his studies in 2014 and has since been a freelance percussionist. He regularly plays as a substitute at Symphoniker Hamburg, Lübecker Philharmoniker, Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock, Camerata Hamburg, Ensemble Schirokko, Marinemusikkorps Kiel and at the Staatstheater Schwerin.
  • Being a sought-after substitute in the Hamburg musical scene, Daniel has played at the musicals "Paramour", "Mary Poppins", "Tanz der Vampire" and "Aladdin" among others.
  • He has been cultivating an inspiring collaboration with dancer and performer Frank Koenen (Hamburg/Stockholm) for years. Together, they explore new expressive possibilities of groove and movement.
  • Daniel is also very committed to promoting young musicians. In the "Schlagzeugstudio Hamburg", which he founded in 2015, he teaches children, teenagers and adults aged 5 to 75 with great passion.
