International Affairs at the HfMT

International orientation in teaching and research is essential for a university in which people from almost 50 nations study, teach and work. Multicultural contacts are already being created by the diversity of the university life. But intercultural competence is complemented and deepened only by stays abroad. This applies to students, teachers and employees. An international network creates viable bridges to partners in Europe and all around the world, which leads to the transfer of knowledge in both directions.

Through the participation of other artistic and social institutions from the area of Hamburg and in general Germany, the university opens up to a wide general audience and increases the relevance of its education.

The support of foreign and German students is a self-evident part of the international orientation of the Hamburg University of Music and Drama.
The International Office is the first point of contact for incoming and outgoing international students as well as assistance in the field of scholarships.
