Quality for Culture
Launch + Panel Discussion
Bucerius Kunst Forum
How can we foster capacity building and resilience through evaluation practices? What can quality management mean for cultural organisations? Experiences in Germany and abroad show successful examples of cultural organizations adopting quality standards (ISO 9001, for example), as well as the development of standards, metrics and specific accreditations for the cultural sector. In 2018, Arts Council England launched the Impact & Insight toolkit, to help arts organisations evaluate the impact of their work and celebrated the 30th anniversary of their Museum´s Accreditation Scheme.
In the panel "Quality for Culture" arts managers and specialists from Germany, UK and Brazil will discuss the opportunities and possibilities for improvement in the management of cultural organizations, having the pursuit of quality as a starting point. Coordinated by KMM guest researcher Beth Ponte, the event will also present the results of her research as German Chancellor Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, including a study and digital guide with 180 arts management resources collected in over 13 countries. Both publications will be available at www.qualityforculture.org.
