Lebenslauf

The trumpeter Moritz Görg gives concerts worldwide at the most major concert halls.

In addition to his solo activities, Moritz Görg has collaborated with many ensembles and symphony orchestras, such as the Nürnberger Symphoniker, Sinfonieorchester Wuppertal, Neue Hofkapelle Osnabrück and Nürnberg Barock and has been featured as a welcomed guest artist at numerous renowned german orchestras, such as Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.

As a specialist in making music on the valveless natural trumpet, he has worked with leading conductors of early music, such as Thomas Hengelbrock, Philippe Herreweghe, Peter van Heyghen, Lionel Meunier, Kay Johannsen.

Moritz Görg holds the first trumpet position in the Balthasar Neumann Orchestra and performs with Vox Luminis, Collegium Vocale Gent, Freiburger Barockorchester, Il Gardellino, Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, Stiftsbarock Stuttgart among others.

Together with his brother Felix he is a founding member of the early music ensemble Michaelis Consort. The prizewinning ensemble has been guest at several music festivals, such as Schleswig-Holstein-Musikfestival, Musica Antiqua Festival Brugge, Barocktage Speinshart, Bach-Wochen St. Michaelis Hamburg, Darmstädter Residenzfestspiele, Uckermärkische Musikwochen, Würzburger Bachtage among others.

Moritz Görg is lecturer in residence on natural trumpet at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg, Musikhochschule Lübeck and Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim and gives masterclasses worldwide (Havanna/Cuba, Reggello/Italy, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden).

Born in Ulm/Germany Moritz Görg studied trumpet with Prof. Uwe Kleindienst, Prof. Håkan Hardenberger, Bo Nilsson and Prof. Matthias Höfs.
