Computational Music Theory provides the theoretical framework for algorithmic composition. In this course, we will look at musical quantities as the basis for generative models and artificial intelligence. In this context, a strong focus will be on the groundbreaking work of composers such as Clarence Barlow and James Tenney whose articles and books will be discussed as well as on the concepts of sonification and musification of scientific data.
