- Beschreibung
Students interested in exploring microtonality or extending their existing practice are welcome, whether as composers and creators or as performers and improvisers. Sessions will combine theoretical and practical approaches, with students listening to, reading about, and presenting and discussing current microtonal music and sound art.
Open to all genres and approaches, from Georg Friedrich Haas to Angine de Poitrine, the seminar welcomes students working with acoustic instruments, electronics, or both. Participants will experiment with new ideas and develop ways of applying them to their own artistic practice. No particular technical background in microtonality is required.
- Literatur
Some texts will be supplied; students are encouraged to find and share texts; and the library has a massive, new acquisition: The Oxford Handbook of Spectral Music.
