Music makes you human again" - with these moving words, Sigrid Langmaack sums up the effect of the "Interactive concerts against social isolation". Since April 2020, students and graduates of the HfMT Hamburg have been playing live concerts for people in the Hospital zum Heiligen Geist.

Concerts and conversations in the digital space, something new for everyone in 2020: "We're never far away - we're close" says Henning Wölk during the Vocoder Ensemble's live performance. Closeness arises during the conversations that follow the concert. "Our situation on site is in some ways unreal and very unsettling for many of our residents (and not just for them). The "Interactive Concerts" provide a welcome break from everyday life, which currently seems to consist more than ever of fears and insecurities," adds Ms. Vilmar, music therapist at the Hospital zum Heiligengeist. The situation is also unreal for the artists: "We need our audience," says singer Henning Wölk.

2020 is coming to an end, but the lockdown continues. That is why we are continuing the concert series: every second Sunday of the month at 3.30 pm live with the unbridled enthusiasm of our students, who are looking forward to their audience.

Our vision: All orchestras, opera houses, music academies and musicians in Germany play interactive concerts for a partner institution. We are happy to make our experience available! Become part of a network.
