Career Center

We believe that the future is shaped by those who have the courage to realize creative visions. Our aim is to support you in shaping your individual career path independently. A good knowledge of your own inner compass is of crucial importance.

The Career Center offers seminars and advice on various career preparation topics. We offer professional performance opportunities outside the university, especially for music students. Our Artist Agency links musical requests for festivities and events with talented students.

The Career Center of the HfMT Hamburg is part of the Career Center Network of German, Austrian and Swiss music universities and the CNSD. In this far-reaching network, you benefit from supra-regional online seminars and first-class connections that support your professional development.

Innovative design - testing - professionalization

The Career Center is an incubator for innovative projects. This is where artistic visions and social ideas take concrete form, social projects are implemented and digital strategies are developed. Particularly outstanding projects by our students have found their stage both in the renowned Elbphilharmonie and as part of the Career Center's CLAB Festival in the Resonanzraum.

The Career Center has many years of experience in initiating and implementing new ideas.

Bringing culture into the home

Our declared aim is to bring music into people's hearts, regardless of their life situation.

We want to open up our concert hall to people who are no longer able to attend concerts themselves. With the help of our innovative app "MusikTiPP", they can enjoy exclusive concert recordings of young talents and at the same time immerse themselves in the fascinating stories behind the music and the lives of the artists.

"MusikTiPP" was specially developed for people who have no internet experience and has already found its way into many senior residences, day care facilities and other areas of life.

We are looking for committed cultural ambassadors to help us establish contact with other senior residences, day care facilities and similar institutions.

Become part of this moving project and help us spread the joy of music.

External concerts

"On Stage!" opens up impressive stage moments for students. With over 90 concerts a year, students are given the opportunity to gain stage experience outside the university. These stage experiences allow them to refine their artistic work in front of a live, applauding audience and to explore new artistic horizons.

The performances take place in partnership with renowned institutions and venues in and around Hamburg. Names such as the Ernst Barlach Haus, TUHH, Harburg Town Hall, Gut Blumendorf, Honigfabrik, Bürgerhaus Niendorf, Rellinger Rathaus, Spiekerhus Volksdorf and many more adorn our artistic stage map. This enables the Career Center to bring cultural diversity to different places and at the same time open the doors of the HfMT to the inside and outside.

For event organizers, we present a selection of talented students who will make your district resound with inspiring programs. The "On Stage!" program promises creativity and musical brilliance.

For students, a stage opens up where they not only find professional performance opportunities at exciting venues inside and outside Hamburg, but also have the chance to develop artistically and personally.

Concert-Lab - Creativity and society in dialog

This seminar is a haven for creative thoughts and ideas. The focus is on the concert. It is questioned, expanded, reinterpreted and boldly tried out. We place a special focus on artistic projects that enter into a symbiosis with socially relevant topics.

This seminar sheds light on the key areas that shape the professional life of musicians. It provides an overview of the topics that are relevant to professional life and serves as a guide to individual, professional and personal development in order to master the path to professional life independently and confidently.

The German, Austrian and Swiss network of the Career Centers of the universities of music offers a wealth of topics and the opportunity for supra-regional networking.

We provide talented artists for readings, concerts, parties and events in both private and business settings. This initiative promotes the practical relevance of our training and involves all areas of the HfMT, from opera & song singing to jazz, chamber music and contemporary music to the drama class.
