StuPa elections

The elections for the HfMT Student Parliament are just around the corner.

The term of office runs from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026.

Nominations can be submitted until 15.01.2025.

All important information on the tasks, regulations and deadlines can be found below!

The Student Parliament (Stupa) is the highest decision-making body of the constituted student body, i.e. the community of all students at the university.
The Stupa decides on the use of your contributions. All students pay a fee for the work of the student council. The current contribution is €13. The Stupa decides how this money is used. The Stupa determines the composition and work of the AStA. The AStA (General Students' Committee) manages the business of the student body. However, it is bound by the instructions and decisions of the Stupa. The Stupa can, for example, decide on topics that the AStA should deal with. The meetings are once a month. The Stupa appoints student representatives to various Committees. Student members are always being sought for committees, commissions etc. The Stupa decides who may represent the students there.

Legal regulations apply to the areas mentioned above. Without a functioning Stupa, there would no longer be any legitimacy for the use of semester contributions, especially for the work of the AStA.
This would mean: No Ersti events, no semester parties, no workshops, coin-operated photocopiers, university sweaters, recording equipment rental etc., no semester - ticket.

According to §2 of the Regulations for the Elections of the Student Parliament of the University of Music and Drama, all students duly enrolled at the HfMT on the cut-off date, December 6, 2024, are eligible to vote. They can vote and be elected. The list of voters drawn up for the students is decisive. It can be viewed in the porter's lodge at the Milchstraße and Wiesendamm campuses (during opening hours).

The election will be held as a ballot box election from 20-24.01.2025. The times for voting at the Milchsttaße and Wiesendamm locations will be announced in good time.

It is possible to vote by post. Participation in the postal voting procedure can be applied for informally until 07.01.2024 12:00 noon (receipt by the election management by e-mail: sarah.jablonski@hfmt-hamburg.de). Votes must be cast by 24.01.2024 at 16:00 (date of receipt). The student parliament comprises 13 seats. Each eligible voter has a maximum of 13 votes. Votes may not be accumulated.

Any person entitled to vote can nominate themselves or others (including several) for election. The form to be used for this is available in the porter's lodge on Milchstraße and at the porter's counter at
Wiesendamm. Completed forms should be sent by email to the election management or by internal mail to the election office (c/o AStA). The election proposal must contain the signature of the person proposing the candidate and the
declaration of consent of the proposed persons together with their signatures. The proposed person declares that they will accept this if elected.
