Pop course Hamburg

Are you young creative minds who make your own music? Then the Popkurs Hamburg is the right place for you. We are looking forward to a colorful mix of artists from all corners of the music world!

Every genre is welcome - whether electronic or handmade, e.g. singer/songwriter, hip-hop, rap, R'n'B, metal, punk, reggae, jazz or country.
No matter how and with what you make your ideas audible, whether you are already trained or have never seen a note before, you are welcome to apply with your demos via the online procedure at www.popkurs-hamburg.de!

Every year, following a two-stage selection process, we accept around 50 young musicians who are coached in two three-week intensive courses. We also like to encourage the artistically extreme and special. Music needs expressive personalities who can sing, compose, write and arrange lyrics, play instruments and perform convincingly. At the Popkurs Hamburg you can show, discover and develop what you are made of!

The Popkurs Hamburg is the pioneer in popular music education at German universities. Since the pilot program in 1982 and the first regular class in 1984, the foundation has been laid for many successful careers. Many of the graduates have become successful as renowned performing artists and/or in the fields of composition/lyrics, production and management and have been actively shaping the music landscape ever since. Many talents were inspired by the open atmosphere of the pop course. Here they have made friends and formed bands or production teams across the year groups. The informal, playful exploration of their own music and the intensive experiences have an impact far beyond the course period.
