As part of the doctoral program, students can obtain further academic qualifications in extracurricular music pedagogy and school music in the subjects of elementary music pedagogy, instrumental/vocal pedagogy and school music.

Doctorates in the field of music education have been anchored in the university's joint Dr.phil. doctoral committee since 2008 (Dr. phil. doctorate). There are currently three ongoing procedures in extracurricular music education.
