Junior studies

At the University of Music and Drama, it is possible to begin a junior degree course while still at school.

The following requirements must be met:

• Attendance at a grammar school in/around Hamburg
• upper secondary school
• outstanding academic performance
• existing contact with the desired teacher at the HfMT HH
• at least 23 points in the entrance examination
• Recommendation of the entrance examination committee

It is currently only possible to apply for a junior study program in the instrumental subjects.

The entrance examination for young students takes place at the University of Music and Drama as part of the Bachelor's entrance examination procedure.
Only the desired major subject will be examined.

If you are accepted for a junior study program, you will study your main subject alongside your everyday school life.

You will only have main subject lessons with us. If you are later admitted to a regular course of study, your achievements can be credited.

You do not have student status during your junior studies. This means that you will not receive a semester ticket or anything similar.
The junior study program is free of charge, only the administration fee of €50 per semester has to be paid.
