HOOU

The Hamburg Open Online University (HOOU) is a joint institution of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, five state universities in Hamburg (Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg), Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), HafenCity University (HCU), University of Fine Arts (HFBK), University of Music and Drama (HFMT)), Multimedia Kontor Hamburg gGmbH (MMKH) and the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE). It was founded in 2015 and has been organized as a society since the beginning of 2020.

The HOOU promotes the creation of scientific, digital learning opportunities. As a platform for collaboration and cooperation, the HOOU is committed to opening up universities and coordinates the cooperative collaboration of education providers to design quality-assured, innovative digital learning opportunities. In line with the goal of openness and free access to learning content, the HOOU contributes to civic participation and education in the digital age. As part of the HOOU, free and freely available learning materials are to be produced, focusing primarily on the Bachelor level and above, which can be accessed and used by interested parties worldwide.

At the HfMT, the connection between the materials you want to create and the regular lessons is important to us - the more they are connected, the better! We are particularly interested in projects that aim to be directly integrated into your lessons, either by providing additional materials or whole units for the course, or even preparing an entire digital course.
