Music can be heard from the open windows: the Außenalster campus with the magnificent Budge-Palais in the center, the Trautweingebäude, the new JazzHall and the modern library is an inspiring place.

The Forum is our large event hall with an orchestra pit, a modern sound system, stage lighting control, stage machinery and an electro-acoustic system. It can accommodate up to 450 visitors. The Außenalster campus is also home to the Fanny Hensel Hall, the Mendelssohn Hall, the Orchestra Studio and the JazzHall.

Walk through the university and learn more about its history. For example, about the ceiling paintings in the Mendelssohn Hall and room 'Blau 200', where György Ligeti taught for 16 years.

One house, two homes: in April 2021, the Theaterakademie opened its doors on the new campus on Wiesendamm. Two fully equipped theater stages, rehearsal stages, opera and drama studios, as well as various other classrooms are available to students and teachers. It is also home to the Institute for Culture and Media Management, the KMM.

In May 2023, the vision of the "ligeti center" became reality: the grand opening of the new transfer center in Harburg was celebrated on the ninth and tenth floors of the Kaispeicher at Veritaskai. The ligeti center is a transdisciplinary joint project of the Hamburg University of Music and Drama (HfMT), the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW), the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) and the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE). On 880 square meters, around 30 people from the fields of research, art, medicine, education and engineering work together in interdisciplinary offices and laboratories.
