Hannelore and Helmut Greve Foundation for Science and Culture
Prof. Dr. h. c. Hannelore Greve is one of the most prominent patrons of the arts in the Hanseatic City. For decades, she has supported the University of Music and Drama with heart and soul. Together with her husband, Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Helmut Greve, who passed away in 2016, she supported the Institute for Music Therapy and its successful expansion abroad. Generous gifts to the university included the new library building in 2005 and the comprehensive restoration of the Fanny Hensel Hall in the Budge Palace in 2007. A particular boon for the students are the twenty new practice rooms that Professor Hannelore Greve donated to the HfMT upon its move back to Harvestehuder Weg. The philanthropic commitment of Hamburg’s honorary citizens is channeled through the Hamburg Foundation for Science, Development, and Culture Helmut and Hannelore Greve.

Hapag-Lloyd Foundation
The Hapag-Lloyd Foundation was established in 1997 to mark the 150th anniversary of Hapag-Lloyd’s founding. The foundation’s activities focus on theater, ballet, music, and museums. It also develops its own projects. Supporting young artists and fostering talent is particularly close to its heart. The Hapag-Lloyd Foundation has been a long-standing principal sponsor of the HfMT’s musical theater series, “junges forum Musik + Theater.”
