Paths into music

Promoting talent. Creating opportunities. Opening up paths into music - for everyone.

The Center for the Promotion of Young Talent at the Hamburg University of Music and Drama bundles offers for the early promotion of musical talent. The aim is to identify potential at an early stage, develop it in a targeted manner and open up individual paths to artistic training.

In cooperation with the Hamburg Youth Music School, The Young ClassX, Hamburg's music schools and private teachers, structured and permeable support paths are created. The offer includes support for excellence, supplementary network formats and inclusive programs and enables individual development while simultaneously reconciling school and artistic training.

A particular focus is on inclusion: in cooperation with EUCREA e.V., the university offers a certificate program for young people with disabilities that is unique in Germany.

For particularly well-developed talents (usually aged 16 and over), there is also the opportunity to switch to a more intensive program within this support structure as part of the Andreas Franke Academy. In addition, the Hamburg University of Music and Drama offers further places for young students; a later transfer to the Academy is possible if the student performs well.
