On Monday, the honorary senator of the HfMT Prof. Dr. h.c. Hannelore Greve died on Monday at the age of 96. Together with her husband Helmut, the entrepreneurial couple supported numerous projects in science, art and culture and were socially committed in a variety of ways. Significant buildings such as the wings of the main university building in Hamburg, extensions to the university hospital in Eppendorf and our wonderful new library building on Milchstrasse are all thanks to their endless commitment. In 2005 they were made honorary citizens of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and in 2008 Hannelore Greve was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. The Hamburg University of Music and Drama mourns the loss of its honorary senator.

Prof. Dr. Jan Philipp Sprick: "In its development, the HfMT has always benefited from the generous support of patrons. Hannelore Greve and her husband Helmut, who passed away a long time ago, lived this support for the HfMT in an exemplary manner and in this way had a very strong influence on the university. Hannelore Greve has not only supported the HfMT as a committed patron, but as an honorary senator she has also left her mark on university life through her approachable manner. We will keep Hannelore Greve in grateful memory. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family."
