What's more harmonious than a microtonal scale? Two microtonal scales! Students will learn techniques for combining tuning systems in their own works, whether for acoustic or electronic instruments, and how to approach this challenge. Examples by Burt, Carlos, Chowning, Dolden, Haas, Ives, Koenig, Stahnke, Thoegersen et al. will be discussed. A final presentation will be required for credit.
