The HfMT can announce a top-class new appointment to its team of lecturers: Anna Fusek has accepted the appointment as the new professor of recorder for the summer semester 2025.
The Prague native, who has made an international career as a soloist on the recorder, as a multi-instrumentalist and as a performer, is very much looking forward to the new challenge at the Outer Alster, especially with regard to the diversity of her remit. "I find it very appealing that the HfMT is not just a music academy. I'm not just looking for connections with other performing arts as a musician, but also as a teacher."
Hamburg is a completely new experience for Anna Fusek. "The professorship here in the north is a very fresh start for me and I'm looking forward to getting to know people!"
In addition to the lecturers at the HfMT, the students of the coming semesters will also be eager to get to know her. Her rather unspectacular favorite instrument should also help her in this regard: "The recorder is still a bit exotic; let's use this position to move freely and curiously in different musical and artistic worlds."
The President of the Hochschule für Musik und Theater, Prof. Dr. Jan Philipp Sprick, is also delighted with Anna Fusek's appointment: "Anna Fusek is an ideal successor to Prof. Peter Holtslag, who worked at the HfMT for over three decades. As an outstanding recorder player and a musician with very broad and interdisciplinary interests, she is predestined to have an impact in all areas of the university."
