Yuhan Niu, HfMT organ student in the classes of Professor Wolfgang Zerer and Professor Matthias Neumann, has been awarded the DAAD Prize 2023.

Biography
Yuhan Niu comes from China. She completed her bachelor's degree in sound engineering/music industry at the Communication University of China and the University of Southern California (Los Angeles). In 2015, she began her organ studies at the University of Southern California with Professor Cherry Rhodes and graduated with a Master's degree with honors. She has performed concerts at cathedrals in San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego.
From 2017 to 2020, Ms. Niu worked as a cantor at Gethsemane Lutheran Church La Crescenta in California.
In November 2020, she began studying organ with Professor Wolfgang Zerer and Professor Matthias Neumann at the University of Music and Drama in Hamburg. She has performed in several churches in Germany. Her own highlights include concerts in Verden in the cathedral, at the Lüneburg Organ Summer 2022 in St. Nikolai Lüneburg and recently at the "Podium der Jungen" in St. Jacobi Hamburg.
This year, she passed her concert exam with summa cum laude and we are delighted to present her with the DAAD Prize 2023 for outstanding foreign students.
