The collaboration between the St. Pauli Theater and the Theaterakademie Hamburg has established itself as one of the most renowned platforms for up-and-coming directors. For two days this year, our stage once again belongs entirely to young directors: once a year since 2005, we have offered them the chance to realize their ideas on a classical stage. The plays play with genres, boldly and surprisingly implement literary models and also deal with old, familiar stylistic devices. And in all of this, they are always on the lookout for new forms of intelligent entertainment. This spring, the festival initiated by Ulrich Waller once again offers up-and-coming directors the chance to realize their ideas on a big stage.

Your patterns are just models, they drive us towards each other, even with blows if necessary. I wonder how many will be struck by the lightning that converts them that day? We can believe in nothing but the experience itself, receptive to every detail, face and sound (once again as if eternally won), trying to pass the time, to drive it out!

The young artist Minnesota moves into a tiny room in New York for twelve months to find material for her diary and her novel. The pages of her notebook are filled with observations on the metropolis she wanders through with a thirst for knowledge, reports of new friendships and protocol-like notes in which Minnesota records the strange words and mantras of her neighbor, which penetrate through the wall into her room and take on an increasingly bizarre dimension.
