In order to live the diversity of an internationally positioned artistic university respectfully and to recognize and prevent structural discrimination and disadvantages of all kinds, an initiative of teachers and employees is jointly developing a critical diversity concept for the HfMT according to the anti-discrimination approach of the Berlin Institute "Social Justice and Diversity" by Prof. Dr. Gudrun Perko and Leah Czollek. Ms. Czollek is supporting this process with several workshops, the first of which took place in May 2018.
A diversity working group with representatives from the specialist groups, deaneries of studies, administration, inclusion officers, equal opportunities officers and the University Senate, Career Centers, International Office, Staff Council, Council of Confidence and ASTAs will meet regularly on a permanent basis to raise awareness of discrimination in the members' respective areas of responsibility and to discuss and work on ways to respond to discrimination. The University Senate will receive regular reports on this process.
