Description

Musicology - who really knows what it means? In this introductory course, student teachers will gain an insight into various fields of study in the discipline by introducing common tools, working techniques, methods and specific perspectives of the subject. Possible contents, questions and research strategies are dealt with in an overview. The focus will be on the question of the pedagogical applicability of a musicological "toolbox", especially for future music teachers. From traditional methods (such as music analysis and music philology) to more recent developments and debates (canon criticism, sound studies, popular music research, ludomusicology), a broad field of the subject will be examined. The first session serves to organize and plan the subsequent sessions.
