Description

Colonialism: How to deal with it as an artist? How to recognize this "ism" in your own artistic work and confront it? How to present or work through it in a reflected and effective way on stage? How to stimulate reflection?
In this artistic workshop, we will work in an interdisciplinary way. This means that music, movement, performing arts, multimedia and other creative fields that the participants bring with them will be used as artistic and research tools. Transdisciplinary improvisation plays an important role here, as does the joint theoretical examination of the topic of "colonialism", including via the HOOU app "Colonial Places - Hamburg's Colonial Heritage" and other materials, discussions about it and the performative examination of it.
The project outlined here has three phases: On a first date, all participants get to know each other and engage with the topic both artistically and theoretically. Transdisciplinary teams are also formed. The second meeting is intended as an interdisciplinary workshop over an entire weekend, during which the teams develop and try out concepts and present them to each other and the workshop leader in feedback loops. At a third meeting, the artistic results will be shown to the university public, who will then be invited to discuss them and the topic as a whole.
