The Cultural Leadership Scholarship Program will enter a second round in Hamburg in 2026/27 - made possible by the commitment of the HfMT Hamburg and the Hamburg Ministry of Culture and Media as well as the Alfred Toepfer Foundation. It is a certificate program of the Institute for Cultural and Media Management at the HfMT Hamburg and is run by Prof. Dr. Martin Zierold (Professor of Cultural and Media Management) and Marlene Troidl (Research Associate).

The programme offers 15 scholarship holders the opportunity to sharpen their personal attitude as managers and develop skills for shaping change processes over a period of ten months in intensive face-to-face workshops, compact focus sessions and self-organized learning groups. Central to the lasting impact of the program is the community of practice, which promotes joint learning and continues as a network beyond the official end of the program.

Who can apply?

The 2026/27 programme is aimed at people with initial management responsibility in Hamburg cultural organizations from all areas of the publicly funded cultural sector.

Applications for one of the 15 scholarship places can be submitted until May 3, 2026.
