Music therapy for people with an Arab migration history
An introduction to theory and practice
Monday, 03/11/2024 18:30 - 20:30 Bibliotheksgebäude, Campus Außenalster

with our alumni Esra Mutlu and Mahmoud Said
Psychosocial and therapeutic work with people with an Arab migration history requires sensitivity to Arab cultural influences. In their book, Esra Mutlu and Mahmoud Said provide an insight into the Arab cultural area and highlight therapy-relevant aspects as well as possible challenges in working with people with an Arab migration history. They will also discuss the links between migration and mental health. In order to enable the best possible therapeutic treatment, they not only present central methods for music therapy practice, they also convey the dimensions of Arabic music. In the book presentation, the central aspects of the book are presented and initial practical impulses are given.
