JohannesBrahms (1833 - 1897)
Piano Concerto No. 2 in B flat major Op. 83
I. Allegro non troppo - II. Allegro appassionato - III. andante -IV. Allegretto grazioso
Soloist: Lucia Lvjie Zhang

Johannes Brahms did not compose his second piano concerto until he was in his mid-forties. In it, solo and orchestra are not in competition, but complement each other to form a symphonic whole for the first time in music history. Critics even spoke of a "symphony with obbligato piano", emphasizing the innovative value of the composition.
Both pianists play in the class of Aleksandar Madžar.
