MUSIC IN OUR DIGITAL AGE
Wednesday, 05/13/2026 12:00 - 21:00 Off-ICMC/ICMC - verschiedene Spielstätten

Music is what connects us, even when everything else separates us.
Music is everywhere - it accompanies us in our everyday lives. But we experience it less and less when it is played live on analog instruments. Instead, it often comes from loudspeakers or headphones, from files, from the cloud.
What is music for you? What does it sound like today? Where does it begin, where does it end?
The ligeti center invites you to listen carefully and discover new sounds. To tinker and try things out.

For over 50 years, artists, musicians and scientists from all over the world have come together every year to explore the interplay between music and digital technologies. Now the International Computer Music Conference (ICMC) is coming to Hamburg-Harburg. Selected concerts are open to the public.

The Off-ICMC will take place in parallel from 11 to 16 May 2026: the free accompanying program on the topic of "Music in our digital age".

12:00-19:00: Interactive installation: Anouk Kellner - Airchoir inter/reactive
The walk-in sound installation Airchoir consists of eight inflatable bodies that breathe in and out like living lungs. They make their voices audible through the organ pipes to which they are connected. Like a choir, they combine to form a multi-layered sound field that constantly changes with the movement of the visitors.

17:30-19:15: Installation & Performance: Andrea Mancianti & Tom De Cock - Autophagy III
Autophagy III is the final chapter of the Autophagy cycle developed jointly by Tom De Cock and Andrea Mancianti. It is a performative installation that arises from the dialog between Tom De Cock's micro-percussion setup and a multi-channel, immersive system of controlled percussion instruments distributed around the audience.

19:30-21:00: Concert: Florentin Ginot - Disturbance
"Disturbance" is an audiovisual solo performance at the interface of concert, video art and theater. With double bass and analog synthesizers, Florentin Ginot invites you to a nocturnal foray. Memory and the present meet ghostly glitches and pulsating electronic rhythms.

Installations and performances: Transition | Tension | Potential
open continuously from 10.05. - 27.05.
At the transition between tracks 3 and 4 in Harburg's long-distance train station, the Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof's display cases show materials and objects in transition. They do not show finished forms, but processes and contradictions.
