Saturday, 07/25/2026 16:30 - 18:00 MS Stubnitz & Baakenhafen

These questions are the focus of the inter-university teaching project “de:colonial monuments lab,” which will bring together students from the Institute for Culture and Media Management (HfMT), HCU Hamburg, and HAW Hamburg during the summer semester of 2026. Taking the historic site of Baakenhafen in Hamburg’s HafenCity as their starting point, the participants are developing artistic, performative, and discursive approaches to the culture of remembrance, decolonization, and public space.

We cordially invite you to discover the resulting works. The projects will be presented as part of a performative walk aboard the MS Stubnitz as well as throughout the Baakenhafen.
We look forward to spending an afternoon together featuring student contributions, encounters, and conversations about the past, present, and future of urban memory culture.
