The film music course offers students an overview of the techniques and technical possibilities available to today's film composer to meet the demands of film production.
The following topics are covered:
- Film music history
- Film crews, assignments and spotting session
- Budgets and schedule
- Role models and temp tracks
- Conceptualizing
- Demos, layouts and computer orchestra simulation
- Timing and clicks
- Composing I: Expectations. Playing with or against the plot. Setting the heroes' emotions or events to music? etc.
- Composing II: Preparation, considerations, organization, research. Tempo and pulse etc.
- Demos, layouts and computer orchestra simulation II - recording and mixing.
In addition, lectures by publishers and composers will provide a lot of up-to-date information about film music in the business world.

During the course, participants will score some short films/film segments.
