Scenic installations - DRAMA! A + B
Sunday, 10/15/2023 16:00 HfMT Campus Barmbek, Kleine Bühne

The DRAMA Festival will once again take place from October 12-15. It will be accompanied by the Hamburg Poetry Lecture on October 14, which this year will be held by the actress Julia Riedler under the title Poetics of Play.

Over the past three years, the DRAMA! festival has developed from a kick-off experiment into a highly successful talent platform through continuous profiling. DRAMA! is a teaching and learning format that brings together students of scenic writing at the UdK Berlin and dramaturgy and directing students at the HfMT as well as acting students at the HfMT Hamburg and the HMTM Hannover in concentrated research work.

Over the course of two semesters, around 40 young theater professionals work in six teams to develop scenic installations that are performed on the small stage on the Wiesendamm campus. DRAMA! thus creates a unique opportunity to get to know each other at work before entering the professional world. The young theater makers treat these creative, utopian spaces that open up to them outside of everyday university life very responsibly. How precious this time together is for their artistic development is now passed on from generation to generation.

At ground level and on the 31st floor
It's a match! Alex and Noa - in the same chat room, in the same high-rise building. We follow them as they get to know each other and are confronted with questions about loneliness, longing and projection surfaces in the digital and real world. An online and offline game.

müdigkeit
Müdigkeit examines the feeling of exhaustion that makes any form of everyday life a mere coping mechanism. How can we protect ourselves from this state - in the face of increasing crises at all social and political levels - and how can we break through it when we realize that we are already stuck in it? Perhaps it is time, after the turn to care, to turn our attention to anger in order to regain a power of action that can also transform an outside.
Quote:
This is not art.
Feelings are only interesting if they are important to everyone, you know. So if your feeling belongs to something bigger.

Scenic design Ilario Raschèr
Dramaturgy Enrico Bordieri
Performers Lukian Anhölcher, Tara Fischer, Anouk Piwek

For everything in the world
Is there a suitable attitude to one's own disappearance? In the face of the bottomless pit, unhinged worlds and burgeoning fears, Martha and Leijf embark on a search for possible narratives about the end. And all around them: mushrooms. Fungi that take the floor, infiltrate our human thought systems and in the process decompose one reality into many.
Quote:
And how elastic is your heart, Martha? In a world that no longer exists / In which everything disappears
Above all, the simplicity of things
How elastic is your heart?

By Julia Herrgesell
Scenic design Olivia Müller-Elmau
Dramaturgy Leena Schnack
Performers Christopher Busse, Aniela Ebel, Hannah Heinzelmann, Luca Manuel Krebs Mbiene, Konstantin Lohnes

LA PLUIE / THE RAIN
A home becomes a ticking time bomb. Resident Jade, her sister Huguette and the house itself - personified by the neighbor who repeatedly intervenes in the action - struggle with the consequences of a building that is falling ill from the inside and whose cracks in the walls not only mean cracks in concrete facades, but also cracks in the entire social fabric that is home.
Quote:
Everything changes. Everything.
In a storm, it's better to hold hands so you don't get blown away.

By Julie Guigonis & Luca Maier (Les Copines)
Scenic design Antonie Zschoch
Dramaturgy Julia Herrgesell
Samuel Distelrath, Anne Gisler, Jasmin Gloor
Costumes Joshi Timmer

Münchhausen
Two cousins meet in their grandmother's house in the forest after years of separation. The forest is on fire. Reality and fiction become blurred. What are we telling stories for? What can be said? What can only be kept silent about? What do we lie about?
Quote: I'm not leaving. Not like this.

By Anton August Dudda
Scenic design Alina Sobotta
Dramaturgy Leonard Kaiser
Performers Jawid Arthen, Anna Hauner, Katharina Bogdanova Petrova, Joel Wiede

Dust
Burnt monologues - damned capital
A process of how people become dust, gain a dusty structure. From concrete figures that still carry scraps of their past lives to the structureless substance that is united by the insane flow of words.
Quote: STAUB has been banned. STAUB is anti-democratic. DUST is illegal. DUST is perverse. DUST is bloody and it is our DUST.

By Alice Rugai
Scenic design Maciek Martios
Dramaturgy Paul Marwitz-Seyffert
Performers Finn Faust, Julia-Mareen Korte, Flora Reim
