Peter Androsch - Air, air, air
I take acoustics literally. For me it's about listening, the Greek ἀκούειν, and not about tinkering with sound. It's about listening as a creative and political act. This can already be recognized by the word per-son. Sound is the sine qua non, because it simply means THROUGH-KLINGER. Sound guarantees full participation in society, namely that people have a voice and are heard. And not hearing is not possible. We always hear. As protection against danger. And also to hear space. Hearing is the most important sense that informs us about everything behind our backs. For this to work, hearing is largely unconscious. Quite reflexively. We call this fast hearing. In order for the hearing that saves our lives to succeed, we do not know what and how we are hearing. That is the price we pay for fast hearing. There is practically no conscious hearing. But there is integrated, systemic hearing. This means that all the senses are "added together" in the brain. And this results in a meaningful and, above all, consistent picture of the world.
