From duet to orchestra - the young scholarship holders of The Young ClassX present their skills
The scholarship holders of The Young ClassX introduce themselves: To round off the year, we cordially invite you to The Young ClassX class recital.

At the class recital, you will experience young scholarship holders between the ages of 10 and 23 who are so enthusiastic and passionate about music and a particular instrument that The Young ClassX enables them to learn this instrument free of charge and thus improve their skills in the long term.
Together with a piano accompanist, the young scholarship holders present their skills from the last school semester, which they have rehearsed with the help of the teachers, many of whom are still young themselves. The volunteer teachers are students of the HfMt, members of the Felix Mendelssohn Youth Orchestra and professional musicians.
You will experience a varied morning of music at the class recital, ranging from short Christmas carols to impressive sonata recitals. The scholarship holders present what they have been working on during the last school semester and learn how to present themselves on stage. These experiences not only strengthen them in their personal and musical development, but are also the first step towards a sense of community in The Young ClassX: the concert concludes with an orchestra made up of all the scholarship holders and the teachers, who always delight the guests with a special piece. For many scholarship holders, this often first orchestral experience is the springboard into the Fanny Mendelssohn Youth Orchestra or the Felix Mendelssohn Youth Orchestra.

About The Young ClassX
The Young ClassX lets children and young people experience music: whether right on their own doorstep or on the other side of town - but always free of charge. Singing in the classroom with their best friends, taking clarinet lessons all to themselves or playing in a large orchestra - anything is possible. Many of the young musicians already feel right at home on Hamburg's small and large stages. Those who prefer to listen will get their money's worth with the MusikMobil. The music education shuttle service takes school classes in Hamburg, Karlsruhe and Dresden to where the music is playing: To concert halls, instrument workshops or museums.
Initiated in 2008 by the Otto Group and Salut Salon, The Young ClassX has now reached over 30,000 children and young people. The music promotion program has received several awards nationwide and is under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Michael Otto, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Otto Group, and Dr. Peter Tschentscher, First Mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

In 2022, The Young ClassX was awarded the OPUS Klassik for the promotion of young talent.
