About Shuyi Wang
Schuyi Wang is a rising star on the classical music scene and is widely recognized for her outstanding pianistic achievements. At the age of 16, she was the only Chinese finalist to win 1st prize at the Anton Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Düsseldorf. Since then, she has received over 30 national and international awards, including numerous prizes from competitions recognized by the Argerich Foundation (AAF), the European Union of Music Competitions for Youth (EMCY) and the World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC).

Last year alone, she won several major prizes, including the Victory Award at the Carles Sofia International Piano Competition in Spain, 1st Prize and the Best Romantic Award at the WPTA International Piano Competition in Spain and a special prize at the Vladimir Krainev International Piano Competition in Switzerland. In addition, she signed a contract with KNS Classical and released her debut solo album "Odyssey", which includes Chopin's Études Op. 10 and Schumann's Carnaval. The album launch took place in September 2024 at the Yangtze River Concert Hall and received extensive media coverage.

She was awarded the Global Music Award for this album, making her one of the youngest recipients of this highly prestigious honor - further evidence of her remarkable contribution to the international music scene at the age of just 20.

Throughout her career, Schuyi has received numerous first prizes and special awards, including the Mendelssohn International Piano Competition (Germany), GOCAA International Competition, Kingsburg International Piano Competition and the Canadian Steinway Piano Competition. She achieved further important successes at the 10th Slobozhanska Fantasia International Competition (Ukraine), the International Geilenkirchen Piano Competition (Germany) and the International Piano Competition Villafranca (Italy, 2nd prize).

Schuyi has performed as a soloist with several orchestras, including the Liaoning Symphony Orchestra, the Northeast University Symphony Orchestra, the Master Orchestra and the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra. Her concert activities have taken her to China, Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, Spain and Switzerland. She has been invited to record for major events, including the 60th José Carreras charity gala, broadcast by MDR.

She was also invited as a special artist for the launch of the new Porsche Panamera in China. Musical Instruments China magazine praised her performance as "a performance that creates a splendid and vivid atmosphere with its exquisite and captivating sound design".

In 2024, she collaborated with Porsche again, this time at the Leipzig Opera Ball, where she performed a 20-minute solo and gave a speech as guest of honor, during which she presented a Porsche Macan. Her performance and stage presence received a lot of attention in the German press, including the Leipziger Volkszeitung and Porsche News. MDR dedicated an exclusive report and interview to her in the Sachsenspiegel (November 13, 2024).

In 2025, she gave a successful piano recital at the Bésalu International Music Festival, which was covered in detail by Empordà and OLOTV (May 18, 2025).

Schuyi began her piano training at the age of five with Professor Liu Jiatianze at the Shenyang Conservatory of Music and later continued her studies with the Russian teacher Drazdov Yuri Anatolievich. At the age of 14, she was accepted to the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, where she studied with Steinway Artist Professor Wang Chun. After graduating with top marks, she continued her studies at the Leipzig University of Music and Drama with Professor Christian A. Pohl.

After completing her bachelor's degree with a grade of 1.0, she is currently continuing her master's studies with the head of the piano department, Professor Hubert Rutkowski, at the Hamburg University of Music and Drama.

About Xavier Ricarte
Xavier Ricarte began playing the piano at the age of 6 with his aunt and continued with his teacher Carles Juliá. Years later, thanks to the Spanish Youth Music Competition, he undertook his first concert tour of Catalonia; later, Intercentros Melómano and the DKV Foundation opened their doors to him in Spain.

Due to his qualifications, the Ferrer-Salat Foundation awarded him the prestigious scholarships for "Young Talents" and twice in a row the "Excellence Scholarship", which enabled him to study all his studies at the Conservatori del Liceu under the direction of Prof. Stanislav Pochekin and Prof. Alba Ventura.

During these formative years he was awarded 1st prize in the 1st edition of the BBVA Competition for Individual Talent, the Special Prize of the Intercentros Melómano, 1st prize in the Pianissimo Competition and 1st prize in the Isaac Albéniz Competition; later he also began to take part in international competitions in Spain, such as the Maria Canals International Competition, with which he was invited on a concert tour as part of the OFF Maria Canals cycle. He has just been awarded 2nd prize in the International Elise Meyer Competition.

Following these awards and recognitions, he was given the opportunity to perform as a soloist with orchestras such as the Jeune Orchestre de Paris and a concert tour financed by the BBVA, the Alumni Catalan Savings Bank and JM, which brought him international recognition. Critics describe the pianist as a young man with sensitivity, energy and musical intensity.

In addition to his training as a pianist, he has taken part in master classes with masters such as Akiko Ebi, Jean Bernard Pommier, Galina Eguizarova, Ewa Kupiec, Dmitry Ablogin, Dmitri Alexeev, András Schiff, Mihkail Voskresensky, Stephan Kovacevich and others. He also receives advice from Prof. Vladimir Viardo.

Ricarte regularly gives concerts in Spain and Germany, but also works with young musicians in Catalonia to strengthen, promote and develop the future of young pianists in Spain. In addition, he gives piano and improvisation courses for Juventudes Musicales during the summer months and devotes himself to his pedagogical work. He was previously a piano teacher at the Granados Marshall Academy and is currently a lecturer at the Junge Musikakademie in Hamburg and at the Musikstadtschule Pinneberg. He also teaches piano as part of the amateur pianist study program at the Hamburg University of Music and Drama.

Xavier Ricarte is currently studying for a Master's degree with Prof. Hubert Rutkowski at the Hamburg University of Music and Drama.
