What does composition sound like in the age of algorithms, media realities and performative presence?

With ALGORITHM::FRAME, the Büro für problematische Komposition, founded in Hamburg in 2019, brings its radically experimental practice together with the award-winning Broken Frames Syndicate from Frankfurt for the first time. The ensemble, winner of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation Ensemble Prize 2024, stands for independent, conceptually sharpened productions and a precise examination of the conditions of listening and performing today.

Five world premieres form the center of the evening - works that oscillate between algorithmic thinking, media construction and physical instrumentality. Sound, image and stage intertwine and open up a space in which composition can be experienced as a process, system and performative act all at the same time.

ALGORITHM::FRAME is not a classical concert, but an experimental space of arrangement: an evening between structure and rupture, between control and openness, as part of the blurred edges festival.
