Once every three years, a Master's program in Music Therapy at the HfMT comes to an end. Now the 6th year of the course is at the end of a three-year journey and, in addition to all the therapeutic content, the artistic part of the degree naturally also includes a concert! But what does a "music therapy concert" sound like?
In around 90 minutes, the group of students show what impressions and experiences they have gained during their three years of study. The focus is on what characterizes music therapy in the first place: Improvisation.
Unlike most other concerts in the JazzHall, the focus here is on the dynamic group process rather than the sonic result. The improvisations reflect what music therapists encounter in everyday life. This includes quirky, spontaneous ideas, moments of harmony and togetherness, but also a musical juxtaposition of individual ideas and aspirations.
This may or may not always sound beautiful.
But above all, it sounds like what our everyday life looked like, looks like and will look like: colorful, diverse and hopefully also very entertaining.
