Directing and Acting Studio Project @ HfMT Summer Festival
Saturday, 06/20/2026 16:00 - 22:00 Hochschule für Musik und Theater

The “Recherchen” academic project, which has been part of the Theater Directing program since 2022, will take place for the first time this year as part of the HfMT’s summer festival. Since January, the participating students have been conducting independent research on their own topics, free from any content-related or aesthetic constraints, and developing productions and performances based on their materials. At the heart of the project is a laboratory-style approach that moves between experimentation and conceptualization, rehearsals and research, observation and action.

LUIGI’S GOT TALENT
Young, male, and a failure. That’s how most assassins can be described. A sad youth. Bad luck in both career and love. Very few are older than 35. A loner or a recluse, poorly integrated into their own social circle. And now they want to take revenge on fate for their botched lives, putting all their eggs in one basket. For once, the whole world is supposed to look at them… modern Herostratus… but is it that simple?
A reflection on the question of whether assassinations can be politically effective.
A performance by and with Jakob Immervoll

Multifunctional Studio: 4:00 PM, 8:00 PM

Weapons Safety (Instruction)

The highest possible level of safety when handling firearms is achieved through proper training in safety regulations and the expert application of the rules of conduct set forth therein. However, improper handling of the weapon can always result in injury, death, or property damage. The instructions of the qualified staff must be strictly followed.

SEEING MOUNTAINS AND DYING
10 Mistakes When Hiking (and How to Avoid Them):

• Wearing the wrong footwear
• Hiking without being in shape
• Not downloading offline maps
• Starting out too fast
• Not bringing cash
• Taking too many breaks
• Being left behind by your partner to die
• Starting too late
• Underestimating snowfields
• Forgetting to pack a survival blanket

Luckily, there are two of you. Luckily, you can rely on each other.
Or can you? What happens when a “harmless” hiking trip suddenly turns into a test of patience, a test of trust, a life-and-death struggle?

TILL DEATH DO US PART
(raubwuschNAMUSI*)

*NAMUSI: The Georgian term Namusi can be literally translated as “conscience”; in social usage, it is closely associated with virginity, moral reputation, and female honor.

A coincidence

It was one of those days, and then it wasn’t one of those days. Something happened; there was no “before,” no foreseeable or calculable reason—it just happened. And suddenly the world is a little strange, a little out of whack.
