Of Sirens, Amazons, and Other (Everyday) Heroines

Whether mother, wife, muse, prostitute, or lover: For centuries, women have been observed, described, romanticized, and co-opted—often ignored and usually underestimated. Between myth and the present, vulnerability and strength, subtle nuances and loud rebellion, this evening brings us face-to-face with female figures from different eras and worlds. Their stories speak of longing, self-assertion, inner struggles, and courageous decisions—tragic, comical, sharp-tongued, lyrical, and always surprisingly relevant.
Theater students from the Theater Academy present an indescribably feminine evening featuring texts by Kleist, Droste-Hülshoff, Berg, Jelinek, Eichendorff, Palmetshofer, Lausund, and others.
