As part of Hamburg’s Press Freedom Week, the HfMT Hamburg is publicly unveiling its Center of Excellence for Resilience in the Media, the Mindful Media Lab. For the kickoff event, the Lab is hosting a panel discussion at the JazzHall:

“Shut the hell up, you left-wing, green-tainted scum!”
A conversation with Dr. Gregor Peter Schmitz, Chairman of the Editorial Board at Stern, about hostility toward journalists and its consequences.
Moderator: Prof. Dr. Barbara Hans

Hate comments, political hostility, upheavals caused by AI, and changing business models—there’s a lot going on in journalism. These challenges affect the entire industry. The consequences of these pressures are structural—and have an impact on press freedom.
