With *Cinema Paradiso*, we’re bringing a timeless classic back to the big screen after a long absence! Giuseppe Tornatore’s masterpiece is one of the most beautiful films about the love of cinema.

In a small Sicilian village, young “Toto” befriends the projectionist Alfredo. Together, they run the Cinema Paradiso and amaze audiences every evening. A sensitive and nostalgic look at the magic that cinema can unleash and how it changes our lives.

The “Movies Meet Music” film series, organized by the “Hamburg University of Music and Drama,” presents this extraordinary film that no one should miss. Film scholar Christoph Dobbitsch will guide us through the evening and contextualize *Cinema Paradiso* both from a film-historical and a personal perspective. There will also be a short supporting program to celebrate this unique event in style.
