Doing a doctorate at the HfMT HH

At the HfMT HH, both the doctorate in philosophy (Dr. phil.) and the doctorate in musicology (Dr. sc. mus.) are possible.

The specific profile of academic professionalization consists of a combination of research and musical practice from the past and present, in the reflection of artistic processes and their mediation, in the exploration of the manifold possibilities of music in general, as well as in research on the significance of music in the cultural scene of our time.

In addition to individual supervision, there are a large number of courses and colloquia aimed directly at doctoral students. An important goal is networking within the individual subject areas, but also among all doctoral students.
