Exam Procedure

If you have any questions regarding the exam procedure or content, you may also submit them via the email address provided during registration.

  • Exam Requirements:

Please ensure that you are alone in the room during the Zoom exam. You will confirm this at the beginning of the exam by briefly panning the camera around the room. Also, make sure that you will not be disturbed. No music or background noise should be audible. Please also present a valid photo ID (identity card or passport) to verify your identity.

  • Exam Content

The oral exam consists of a personal interview. Your speaking and listening comprehension will be assessed. During the interview, you will introduce yourself, discuss your musical background, and describe your musical preferences. Grammar and musical vocabulary will not be directly tested. It is important that you speak authentically and are able to respond spontaneously to the questions.

Admission Requirement:

If you did not complete your high school diploma (or, if applicable, previous studies) in Germany, passing the German exam is a mandatory admission requirement for enrollment in a bachelor’s program. A “German certificate” does not exempt you from taking the exam. If you do not pass the German exam, you may still begin your studies. In that case, attending German language courses is a prerequisite for enrollment, and you must provide proof of registration with the conservatory to complete the enrollment process.
