- Description
The seminar is an introduction to various approaches and methods of performance analysis. On the basis of performance visits and video recordings, we will examine the aesthetic means of theater and their effects and discuss the possibilities and limitations of analysis. In doing so, we will develop a vocabulary that allows us to talk about different performances, their particularities and aesthetic means. In addition, by writing short texts during the semester, we will also practice the written form of reflection on theatrical arts. Depending on the performance, we will also include drama texts in the analysis in order to be able to examine the relationship between text and performance.
Joint visits to performances are an obligatory part of the seminar.
