Description

The seminar builds directly on the basics from the choir and ensemble conducting course from the previous semester. In cooperation with the Edwin-Scharff-Ring elementary school, the rehearsal processes begun there will be continued and a children's musical will be rehearsed and performed together with the pupils.
The focus is on combining artistic-practical work and musical-didactic reflection. Building on conducting, rehearsal and methodological skills, aspects such as voice training, choral work at primary school age, ensemble coordination and elementary scenic design are explored in depth. Particular attention is paid to questions of motivation and differentiation in the school context. The seminar sees itself as a practical laboratory for school music-making practice: students gradually take on responsibility for partial rehearsals, musical rehearsals, scenic sequences and organizational processes. The planning, execution and evaluation of the rehearsals are continuously reflected on in a theory-based manner, for example with regard to developmental psychological prerequisites at primary school age, music pedagogical target perspectives and concepts of aesthetic education.
The aim is to professionalize artistic leadership skills in the school context, to sharpen one's own role as a teacher and to be able to competently design musical-scenic projects as an integral part of school culture.
