Description

The seminar deals with the development of the instrumental concerto, starting with selected works from the late Baroque period (Vivaldi, Bach, Handel, Telemann) through the Classical and Romantic periods to Classical Modernism (Schönberg, Bartok, Berg, Prokofiev). In addition, the solo cadenzas typical of the instrumental concerto are to be examined and written independently where they are missing. At the end of the course, there will be two alternative performance options: a cadenza written by the student or a presentation on a selected concerto.
