The seminar "Fundamentals of audiation-based music learning" introduces the basic principles of Edwin E. Gordon's Music Learning Theory using the example of musical improvisation. Gordon using the example of musical improvisation. Theoretical and practical seminar content complement each other. The seminar consists of three parts:
- Workshop as part of a conference with Prof. Dr. Wendy Valerio from the School of Music Columbia/SC (USA) on October 4/5, 2025.
- Regular events during the winter semester with Prof. Dr. Almuth Süberkrüb (Wednesdays from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. on the dates listed below.
- Workshop with Prof. Dr. Christopher Azzara from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester/NY (USA) on January 6/7, 2026).

3 credits will be awarded for participation in all three parts of the course.
