- Description
An ensemble that never comes together live. A play in which we represent the positions and perspectives of others.
We are developing a series of monologue texts with and about people who live in Hamburg. They will not perform themselves. Instead, the monologues will be performed spontaneously by people who attend the presentation. The working process consists of giving the absent people "a voice" and taking on their perspective by "trying them out". After a research-based casting of the people, we work in groups on the basis of interviews and conversations with these people to develop texts with scenic elements that can be spontaneously performed by volunteers in the performance. We act as "ghostwriters" for others, rehearse with the results and organize them in such a way that the audience can perform them spontaneously. On the one hand, it's about the content that the people from Hamburg bring with them, and on the other hand about fundamental questions of representation, theater and identity: What does it mean to speak for someone else? How can I take on the perspectives of other people? To what extent do these perspectives and positions change when they are embodied or voiced by someone else?- Credits
