This seminar provides fundamental knowledge and practical workflows for the Sibelius notation software, which are necessary for entering your own compositions and arrangements or for working as a music copyist:
- Efficient note entry methods (alphabetical entry, keyboard entry, Flexi-Time entry, and scanning)
- Creating scores and associated dynamic individual parts, as well as special notation forms: lead sheets, drum notation, guitar notation

Practical workflows:
- Formatting and layout
- Creating transposed versions of existing scores
- Importing MIDI files from sequencer programs
- Using the arrangement function, including to create a piano reduction
- Producing audio demos with the built-in sample player
- Quickly creating lesson worksheets using the templates included in Sibelius
- Applying what you’ve learned to create the arrangements specified in the curriculum (e.g., for Jazz Theory 2, Ensemble Conducting, or Practical School Arranging)
