First, we’ll explore the possibilities of free improvisation and let ourselves be surprised by the unexpected order and the intensity of unspoken understanding.
Then we’ll practice ostinato forms from the High Baroque period and finally move on to the Viennese Classical period: Variations of various types and complexities on cadences and sequences, alone and in groups, with and without piano; motivic developments are a must, as are harmonic wildness, cadential gallantries, simple song-like phrasing, and so on...
